The opportunity…
This role will lead the overall Sales and Marketing function, driving growth, market expansion, and customer engagement strategies across the business. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for developing and executing commercial plans, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment between business objectives, market dynamics, and customer needs. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong commercial mindset, capable of balancing strategic direction with hands-on execution.
This position will specifically support AVANT – MED SDN. BHD., one of Device Technologies’ newly acquired businesses in Malaysia. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing AVANT’s day-to-day commercial operations, integrating sales and marketing initiatives into Device Technologies’ broader business framework, and driving sustainable growth across its medical device portfolio.

Our ideal candidate for this role aligns with these values and brings a strong background in sales and marketing within the medical device or healthcare industry, ideally with exposure to radiological products. They have a proven record of driving commercial success across regional markets, supported by strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic yet hands-on, they excel at integrating new business operations, developing high-performing teams, and delivering sustainable growth in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.
Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in sales and marketing within the medical device or healthcare industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Preferably knowledgeable in the field of radiological products.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a regional or multi-country capacity.
- Strong analytical and business reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and present insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing teams or cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and GDPMD requirements.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
Desirable
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent).
- Experience working with multinational manufacturers or distributors.
- Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience in digital marketing, product launches, or market development within the healthcare sector.
