The opportunity…
We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Capital Sales Manager to lead the growth of our Ophthalmology portfolio, with a primary focus on advanced femtosecond laser technologies.
In this role, you will take ownership of driving capital equipment sales for Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems, expanding our presence across both refractive and cataract segments. You will be responsible for building a robust pipeline, converting high-value opportunities, and increasing our installed base within your territory.
Working at the forefront of surgical innovation, you will collaborate closely with Clinical Territory Managers and Product Specialists to deliver a highly consultative, customer-centric sales approach—ensuring strong engagement and successful capital conversion.
In addition to your primary focus, you will also support capital opportunities for Oertli Instrumente AG, contributing to broader portfolio growth while maintaining a clear priority on Ziemer targets.
This is a high-impact role suited for a results-oriented sales professional who thrives in complex, long-cycle capital sales environments and is motivated to deliver sustainable revenue growth while shaping the future of ophthalmic care.

Our ideal candidate for this role aligns with these values and is a results-driven capital sales professional with a strong track record in managing complex, high-value equipment sales, ideally within medical devices or ophthalmology. You bring excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage surgeons and hospital decision-makers while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with advanced platforms such as Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems or similar technologies will be highly regarded.
Experience required:
- Degree in Health, Biomedical, Engineering, or Business Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience selling in ophthalmic capital equipment sales
- Proven experience in medical capital equipment sales.
- Experience selling to hospital executives and procurement committees.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage and close high-value capital deals.
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting capability.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.
Desirable
- Direct experience in ophthalmic capital equipment sales (highly preferred).
- Experience selling ophthalmology laser systems (Femtosecond / Excimer) is highly considered.
- Strong understanding of refractive and cataract surgery market dynamics.
- Experience in public hospital tender processes.
- Established network within ophthalmology community.
