The opportunity…
This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with a diverse range of advanced medical technologies in hospital environments across Victoria. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping life-saving equipment operational, combining independent field work with strong team collaboration. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want to make a real impact on patient care, this role offers both variety and purpose.
Key responsibilities...
- Perform installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of critical medical equipment, including ventilators, patient monitoring systems, infection prevention technologies, and imaging systems such as MRI and ultrasound
- Deliver high-quality, primarily field-based service across hospital sites, supported by a central workshop, with occasional interstate travel as required
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimise equipment downtime and support clinical operations
- Manage spare parts, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory and safety standards
- Build strong relationships with clinical staff and internal teams to deliver high-quality service outcomes

Experience required (or highly desirable):
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining medical equipment, ideally including ventilators
- Exposure to imaging systems such as MRI and ultrasound, or medical lasers (highly desirable)
- Qualification in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across electro-mechanical systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clinicians, technicians, and stakeholders
