The opportunity…
A great opportunity has become available in our da Vinci Surgery team as a Business Development Manager – Malaysia.
We are looking for an experienced and versatile Business Development Manager that can lead a team and expand the footprint of da Vinci technology within Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have experience in surgical industry and a focus on developing strong relationships with surgeons and hospital executives.
Key responsibilities:
Drive Market Expansion & Capital Growth
- Expand the installed base of da Vinci Surgical Systems by identifying and developing capital sales opportunities across primary and new (greenfield) sites.
- Help build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and territory plan.
- Contribute to capital business case submissions with accurate case volume forecasts and critical market insights.
Grow System Utilization & Procedure Volume
- Increase utilization within existing (brownfield) da Vinci accounts through strategic engagement with hospital stakeholders.
- Partner with the Sales Manager and Product Specialists to ensure systems are fully operational post-installation and procedure growth targets are met.
Build Clinical Advocacy & Surgeon Engagement
- Identify and engage influential surgeons to champion da Vinci Surgery.
- Organize and execute market development activities such as clinical observations, international surgeon visits etc.
- Foster long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and hospital administrators.
Strategic and Operational Planning
- Support sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Prepare regular reports including pipeline updates, revenues in pipeline, and sales reports.
- Collaborate with marketing and business leadership to align strategies and drive execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide timely market insights to Product Managers and Business Managers to support product positioning and marketing planning.
- Participate in business unit meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Support execution of industry events, exhibitions, and clinical marketing activities.
Compliance & Systems
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of CRM entries, reporting, and administrative tasks in line with company policies and processes.

This role requires a passion for clinical and capital sales whilst having the ability to build strong surgeon advocacy. Expert relationship management is required to ensure a strong network of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience required:
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of clinical sales experience, preferably within the medical device industry
- Previous experience with da Vinci Surgical Systems or robotic-assisted surgery is highly regarded
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior healthcare professionals and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Sound computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems; familiarity with Salesforce and SAP preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in business development
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience in successful capital sales conversion
- Understanding of Regulatory Affairs
- Experience within the healthcare industry
